Kingwell Fine Homes is led by a hands-on team that combines deep construction experience, development insight and investor-focused thinking. Every home and multi-unit project we build is personally overseen by leadership—from early design through move-in and warranty care.

Brett Nodwell – President

As President of Kingwell Fine Homes, Brett leads the vision, strategy and client experience behind every project. A Tarion-registered builder and long-time real estate professional, Brett has spent years helping families and investors plan, design and build homes that feel as good to live in as they look from the street.

Brett’s focus is on building custom homes, Net Zero and high-performance homes and multi-family investment properties that deliver long-term comfort and strong financial performance. Under his leadership, Kingwell Fine Homes was recognized as a finalist in the Canadian Home Builders’ Association National Awards for Housing Excellence (2022) for Net Zero construction.

In addition to his work as a builder, Brett is deeply involved in real estate, development and mortgage advisory work, helping clients think through land, financing and exit strategies before a shovel ever hits the ground. Clients value his straightforward communication style, attention to detail and ability to bring complex projects together with the right team.

Randy von Heyking – Director of Construction

Randy von Heyking brings over 20 years of experience in land development, construction, real estate, project management and finance to his role as Director of Construction at Kingwell Fine Homes. His background spans subdivision development, custom homes and multi-unit residential projects across Southampton, Port Elgin, Saugeen Shores and other Grey–Bruce communities.

Randy takes a holistic approach to project management, overseeing every aspect from early concept and budgeting through to completion with meticulous attention to detail. Working closely with trusted trades and site crews, he navigates the complexities of construction with calm, organised leadership—ensuring that each Kingwell home reflects the design intent and performance standards our clients expect.

His experience includes years leading community development and construction in lakefront and Bruce Power–adjacent markets, delivering both individual homes and multi-unit projects built to perform in demanding climates.

Professional Background & Qualifications

Randy’s practical experience is supported by a solid educational foundation:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute
  • Training in Architectural Technology/Technician from Centennial College

These combined skill sets allow Randy to orchestrate complex builds with precision—balancing schedule, cost, constructibility and long-term durability for every Kingwell project.

  • Trade coordination, safety and quality assurance
  • Technical review of drawings and specifications
  • Municipal inspections and on-site problem solving
  • Delivering finished homes and multi-unit buildings that meet or exceed Kingwell standards

How Our Team Works With You

Building a home or investment property is a major decision. Our job is to make the process clear, transparent and well-managed from start to finish.

  1. Discovery & Site Review – We learn about your goals and review your lot or target property.
  2. Design & Budgeting – We work with designers and consultants to align your vision with a realistic budget.
  3. Permits & Approvals – Our team handles building permits, engineering and municipal coordination.
  4. Construction & Quality Checks – Brett and Randy oversee daily progress, safety and quality control.
  5. Walkthroughs & Move-In – We conduct multiple walkthroughs and address any items before you move in.
  6. Warranty & After-Care – Your home is registered with Tarion, and we remain available for service and support.

Throughout the build, clients receive regular updates, site photos and clear explanations of any decisions that need to be made.
